Announcement to our business partners

Posted: March 17, 2020

We would like to inform our valued business partners about the following announcement from our Managing Director and Global Sales Director Christian Meunier:

As you might have heard already from the market, our company has initiated several significant changes with closing two production plants in Germany and Czech Republic. Our transformation process is ongoing and will be completed as scheduled in the next few months. We would also like to share several key growth initiatives.

For many decades, Mehler has been a global player in the textile reinforcement of mechanical rubber goods across a wide range of applications.

While many of our innovative products are used in the automotive industry we also offer products to highly diverse industries such as medical, mining, defense, oil & gas, construction and even wintersports. For many products, we are proud to be one of a few, and at times the only supplier worldwide.

We offer production sites in North America, China and India besides our strong footprint in Central and Southern Europe. We have promoted various key members of our international staff and have also hired industry experts to ensure that we continue to provide excellent service to our customers.

Mehler has a long history of developing innovative solutions for our customers. It is important to us that we maintain this tradition. We have hired a highly experienced chemist for our growing R&D team. This will allow us to further strengthen our knowledge base which rests on our core competence of understanding the interaction between textile, chemistry and rubber components. Our goal is simply to provide to our customers the best solution to their needs by offering smart high-end applications and by adding value to our customers’ products.

We have strengthened our Sales and R&D department and combined both teams under one leadership. We have established two technical centers, one in Fulda dedicated to chemistries and one in Portugal focused on textile research.

Finally, we are investing substantial capital in our manufacturing facilities. In Germany we are adding new production capacities for solvent and water based treatments, and we are expanding capabilities in our overseas production facilities. These investments are in response to the new trends we see in the marketplace and we are going in the direction of ready-to-use products.

In all of our actions, the customer is at the center of our focus. We are looking forward to continuing and strengthening our existing customer relationships and introducing our innovative products to new customers.
